About Superstars Nursery
SuperStars Day Nursery was opened in 2011 and we believe we have created a stimulating and exciting environment for your child. Our nursery provides a professional quality care for children aged 0-5 years. We are please to announce our opening of another Day Centre based in Handsworth Wood which is now officially OPEN to the public February 2016.
We will continue to provide a stable and caring environment, which allows children to develop to their full potential. We have a good partnership between staff and parents, ensuring a safe and happy environment. All of our staff are highly trained and experienced and we regular review our staff training programs to meet with EYFS guideline. We are committed to continually improving our provision for all children. We want parents/carers to feel confident about the quality of care that is provided for their child without concern for their child’s welfare and CCTV installed for security. SuperStars Day Nursery we pride ourselves with dedicated, caring staff. Our staff are qualified; being NVQ Level 3 to 6, other staff members are working towards their childcare qualification, with the more senior staff members having many years’ experience in the childcare.
Staff also receive training in areas such as First Aid, Level 2 in Food and hygiene, trained in Asthma and Allergy, Safeguarding, Child protection, Epilepsy, 2 years progress check, Terrific 2, Basic healthy heating & weaning and also behavior management.We have a small team of relief staff who cover when staff are on holiday or unwell, the staff are therefore familiar to the children and our Nursery practices all year round.
We hold regular staff meetings to ensure that our high standards are maintained. Issues relating to all aspects of the Nursery are fully discussed with the staff. Management meetings are held regularly to ensure that our service is meeting the needs of our children, parents and staff. We occasionally have students from local colleges attending the Nursery as their work placement. These students are all studying for a childcare qualification and are here to gain some hands on experience; the students are always supervised by a member of staff.

Q= Quality Childcare for children taking into account safeguarding of children is paramount and every adult’s responsibility.
U – Unique. Embracing the ways in which every child is unique and may have a different family background. Our interest in multiculturalism allows the team to celebrate different cultural practices and educate children on this.
A – Adaptable. Creating adaptable learning spaces for all children with various needs. Our SENCO supports children with additional needs and provides Early Intervention techniques to recognise support required.
L – Learning. = Providing a high standard of learning and teaching within Early Years. The team members have qualifications ranging from Level 3 – Level 6 EYPS.
I – Inclusive. = Adopting an inclusive practice throughout and ensuring that every child’s individual needs are met.
T – Training. = Ensuring that ongoing Management/Staff training and improvements are in place.
Y – Youth. = Inspiring the minds of young learners and preparing them for school.
Superstars Day Nursery indoor and outdoor toys and equipment are regularly checked and maintained; if necessary they are withdrawn from play activities until they are fully secured as safe for your child. Baby toys are sterilised regularly to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. Your child will have their own bed linen and attention to personal hygiene is made an integral part of your child’s daily activities.
Superstars Day Nursery ensures that great care is taken to present meals, where the food is cut into small pieces, enabling your child to eat enjoyably and safely. For these reasons, we have our own strict regulations regarding food shape i.e. we do not serve your child whole grapes, cherry tomatoes, whole meatballs and any other foods with potential to cause difficulty in swallowing.
All staff undertake regular training in paediatric first aid to ensure the safety of your child. If your child becomes unwell whilst in our care, we will make every effort to contact you and if necessary you will be asked to come and collect your child. The nursery will inform you of any contagious / infectious illness that we are aware of.
Health and Safety
Superstars Day Nursery understands that the health and safety of your child is of fundamental significance to you and us and that’s why our named members of staff responsible for Health and Safety, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Fire Marshalling and Behaviour Management. All staff are regularly trained in our Health and Safety Policies.
